European Aquatics as an accelerator of innovation in aquatic sports
The aim of this talk was to present the design and implementation of evidence-based, innovation-driven sports development policies that support the growth of Aquatic Sports across Europe. The presentation covered a selection of policies and initiatives being implemented by European Aquatics, the governing body for Aquatic Sports in Europe. It outlined the coaches' education framework, the accreditation of laboratories and training centres, the establishment of the Innovation Hub, funding and awarding opportunities available to the aquatic sports community, and programmes aimed at raising awareness of water safety and promoting learn-to-swim initiatives.
