Post-operative follow-up of a swimmer who underwent micro endoscopic discectomy for lumbar disc herniation
INTRODUCTION
Swimming is a sport that places a relatively small load on joints6) . However, competitive swimmers practice a great deal, which leads to a high frequency of sports injuries5) . Lumbar problems are frequently observed during swimming, and lumbar disc disease such as lumbar herniation is a common cause of lower back pain among swimmers2) . Microendoscopic discectomy (MED), which removes a herniated disc using an endoscope through a small skin incision, is currently gaining attention3) .
