Skeletal age of well trained young swimmers

In this study the skeletal and chronological ages of 200 untrained and 200 well trained male swimmers aged 7-19 years were compared. It was found that when systematic swimming activity starts early in life it can accelerate the rate of attaining biologica, maturity and the appearance of the pubertal growth spurt.
